The first OWW Committee meeting for District 2 was not as fruitful as I had hoped. However, those ALR post that did attend, all agreed that the Arizona ALR should reconsider funding projects in Arizona. There are still some issues regarding using the trade mark Operation Wounded Warrior for fund rising… We will address this issue at the next committee meeting.
As it stands now any American Legion Post that uses the trademark OWW for fund rising would be required to submit these funds to ALRAZ Post 129 for future disbursement. The ALR District 2 committee has challenged this as unacceptable and unreasonable. It was our contention that any fund raising that is conducted by District 2 Posts should have the choice to help the local veterans in this district. For now we will have to wait to here form the ALRAZ Committee to respond.
